WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files sent from the site to the user’s terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the site on the next visit by the same user. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive, nor can it transmit computer viruses or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. FIRST-PARTY OR THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

Cookies can be first-party or third-party, where “first-party” refers to cookies developed by the site owner, while “third-party” refers to cookies developed by third parties with respect to the site owner.

NATURE OF COOKIES

Regarding the nature of cookies, there are different types:

1. Technical Cookies

– functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to them. The installation of these cookies does not require the prior consent of users (more information in the cookie management section below).

2. Profiling Cookies

Profiling cookies are aimed at creating profiles related to the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing online.
For the use of profiling cookies, the consent of the interested party is required. According to measure no. 229 of May 8, 2014 and EU REGULATION 2016/679 (GDPR), the user must be able to authorize or deny consent to the installation of profiling cookies if they are present.

In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not have direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it cannot either install them directly or delete them). However, you can manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions provided later), or the sites indicated in the “Cookie Management” section.
